Physics Day 2016

Physics Day 2016
Posted on //
Kaplan Career Academy Physics Day 2016The Kaplan Career Academy Physics class took a trip to an amusement park to see physics in action.  They took measurements and made observations about the physics of roller coasters, swings, bumper cars, and other rides.  Students were able to gain a first hand experience the laws of conservation of momentum, gravitation, and conservation of energy in action.  This trip included a student work packet that encouraged students to make observations about the laws of physics while riding some of the fastest roller coasters and "zero g" rides in the park.  Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the day.
A big thank you goes out to Mr. DiMarco and Mr. Henery who secured funding for this trip and the Physics Day t-shirts, and to chaperones Ms. Cook and Ms. Luiso, as well as the physics students of Kaplan Career Academy.
